Playa de las Americas is the biggest touristresort on the island, and it is dominated by hotels, restaurants and shops. Parts of the beach consists of dark rocks, and other parts are filled with golden sand.
You can find all kinds of wateractivities on the popular beach, and the mainstreet is located nearby. Much of the nightlife is located in the Véronicas area.

Los Cristianos used to be a quiet little resort next to Playa de las Américas. Today it is almost a part of it, and together they are the biggest touristresort on Tenerife.
There is a nice little harbour here where you can find a lot of fishingboats and ferries to the neighbor island La Gomera. Right next to the harbour is a small beach.

Puerto de la Cruz is often just called 'Puerto', and it is a nice touristresort on Tenerife. Mainly because of the old area with it's beautiful buildings in the city.
You can find a small beach here, but the weather is not always as good here as it is in the south. Because the city is located on the northcoast of the island, it can be more cloudy and a bit cooler here.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the capitol of the island and also of the province of Tenerife; consisting of the four westernmost Canary Islands. The city is located on a small strip between the sea and the mountains which rises high above the town.
Santa Cruz is divided in three areas. First is the busy harbour with yachts, ferries, cruiseships, tankers and container ships. Then it's the center with shops and attractions, and then there is the residential area with beautiful century-old villas.
